I was born on a hot summer day, about 2:30pm on July 16th 1994. My mother did have complications with my birth. The mid wife had to induce the labor and from what I hear it was very painful, but in result of all that am glad to be here. My mother is Agripina Mora she is a preschool teacher. Like everybody we all have problems with our parents and well my mom was not the easiest to deal with as I am still dealing sometimes. You might ask why I only talk about my mom, well it’s because my father passed away in 2004 and I don’t like to talk about that. My parents have affected my life in many ways good and bad. Many of my friends have parents that have always given them everything they want and need from shoes to a college fund they don’t have to work for what they want; they are born with those opportunities. Where as, I was born to no college fund and I have always worked for what I wanted, sometimes I have even worked for what I have needed. Growing up my mom tried her hardest to supply food and a roof for my sister and I. In a way I appreciate that my mother has thought us to be independent and strong even though we struggled growing up. I hate the fact that my mom gave up on me when I gave birth to my daughter. Sometimes I think I made her take that drastic decision. Jessenia Villanueva is my sister, the best sister I could ever ask for I wouldn’t trade her for the world; there is no word good enough to describe her. I love that she is supportive, funny, optimistic, and loveable towards my daughter and I. A pivotal moment in my life was when I had my daughter on May 16 2010. This moment did affect me in a great way because now I am responsible, happily I take ownership into the decisions I make. My daughter is the best thing that has ever happened to me because even though I do struggle to pay rent, bills, food, and necessary appliances or things we might need I am happy. Thankfully the valley I live in has a Teen Parent Program and I am still able to do what I need to do, to have a successful life. Our future thanks my great teachers and advisors that support teen parents. I do believe anything is possible and I will not give up especially because my daughter needs support, belonging, and a great mother even if she just has me. The fact that my daughter doesn’t have a grandpa and I don’t have a dad makes me sad. In this life I wish many things could turn out different, but I recognize that it is what it is. I do believe in the Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit simply because it makes me happy and gives me hope. I have many strengths starting with being independent, smart, vigilant and knowing I have the responsibility to provide for a daughter that needs my help and love. I would hate for my daughter to go through what I am going through now. I work 30 hours a week just to put a roof over my daughter and I. I go to school two days a week, and I give my all to be the best mother I could possibly be. There are times I want to give up but one look I take at my beautiful little girl, gives me the strength I need to keep going. I pray I give Isabella the knowledge and strength in order for her to make smart decisions in her life. As a mother I only want the best for her. Isabella and I are going to be successful women and we will keep our head held high in our journey of life.
